Bar Crawl Planner

Enter your stops and how long you want at each, and get the total crawl time and the exact time you will be back on the curb.

A bar crawl on a party bus is a math problem with drinks attached. Four stops at 45 minutes each sounds like three hours, but every stop also means walking out, counting heads, and driving to the next door. Fort Worth bar hops almost always run one of two loops, West 7th to the Stockyards or Magnolia Avenue to Sundance Square, and both involve real driving. This planner does the arithmetic so you book the right block instead of discovering the shortfall at 11 PM.

How to use the bar crawl planner

  1. 1

    Set your start time

Use the time your bus pulls away from the pickup address, not when people start arriving. Only about 15% of Fort Worth pickups begin after 8 PM, so an after-dinner crawl that starts at 8:30 is a slightly unusual and often easier booking.

  2. 2

Rename the stops to your actual plan

Swap the placeholders for real places: a Magnolia Avenue patio, a West 7th rooftop, a Sundance Square cocktail bar, a Stockyards honky-tonk. Set the minutes for each between 10 and 180.

  3. 3

    Add or remove stops

Use Add Stop for a fifth or sixth venue and the X to drop one. Each added stop also adds 15 minutes of travel to the total, so watch the end time move.

  4. 4

Compare the end time to your booked hours

If the end time lands within 30 minutes of when your block ends, book another hour. Overtime kicks in 15 minutes past the scheduled end and is only possible if the vehicle is free.

A Magnolia Avenue bachelorette with five stops

Twelve friends, the median bachelorette size, plan a Friday crawl for a bride who lives in Fairmount. Start time 6:30 PM. Stops: dinner on Magnolia Avenue, 75 minutes; a cocktail bar two blocks over, 40 minutes; a West 7th patio, 45 minutes; a Sundance Square lounge, 45 minutes; a late-night taco stop, 25 minutes. Stop time is 230 minutes, plus four travel gaps at 15 minutes for 290 minutes total. The planner reads 5 stops, 4h 50m, end time 11:20 PM. They book five and a half hours, which leaves room for a split drop-off between Fairmount and a downtown hotel.

Why this matters for a Fort Worth group

You set a start time, then list your stops with a name and a minute count between 10 and 180. The tool automatically adds 15 minutes of travel between consecutive stops, not after the last one, and shows three numbers: how many stops, total time in hours and minutes, and your end time. The starter route is a 60-minute dinner, 45 minutes at a West 7th bar, 45 minutes at a Sundance Square bar, and 30 minutes for late-night tacos.

Read the total as the minimum you should book. The starter route adds up to three hours of stop time plus 45 minutes of travel, so a 7:00 PM start ends at 10:45 PM. Round up to four hours and you have a 30-minute cushion. The median Fort Worth bar-crawl group is 14, which keeps loading fast, but a group of 24 should add five minutes per stop for the shuffle on and off.

Start on Magnolia, finish on West 7th

Magnolia Avenue shows up in about 0.8% of itineraries, almost always as the dinner-and-cocktails opener, while the West 7th ZIP (76107) is where most bar crawls make their first bar stop. Running south to north keeps the drive short and the late stops close to downtown hotels.

Give the Stockyards a longer block

The Stockyards is the single most-mentioned destination in Fort Worth itineraries, and a stop there is rarely 45 minutes. Billy Bob's alone can swallow 90, so set that row to 90 or 120 and shorten the others.

Plan the crawl for a December weeknight if you can

Bar-crawl requests peak in December, when they are far more common than any other month. Sunday through Thursday dates qualify for a 3-hour minimum on select vehicles and are far easier to book than the December 8 to 24 Saturdays.

FAQ

Bar Crawl Planner questions

Specific to this tool and how Fort Worth groups use it.

Because that is what a stop change actually costs inside Fort Worth: getting everyone out of the bar, back on the bus, a short drive, and parking. Travel is added between consecutive stops only, so a four-stop crawl gets three travel gaps. For a Stockyards leg or an Arlington detour, add extra minutes to the stop before it.
